NWS Issues Flash Flood Watch For Eastern Maine Counties

Looks like some VERY heavy rain will develop tonight in our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for our local areas, including among others, Interior and Coastal Hancock and Washington Counties, Central and Southern Penobscot, and Southern Piscataquis.  This includes Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Bangor, Brewer, Orono, Old Town, Bucksport, Machias, and the surrounding areas.

The National Weather Service stresses that flash flooding is a very dangerous situation, as immense amounts of water can collect very quickly.  Sounds like a good reason to stay off the roads.
