Portland PD Saves Skunk And Both Make Clean Getaways

I always love seeing people rise above their personal fear to help a creature in need. Now even though this wasn’t a tiger with a thorn in its foot it was a poor little skunk with a can stuck on its head. Thankfully for the little one as reported by the Portland Press Herald, Tracie Reed of Portland had heard the skunk banging around outside unable to see and so she called for assistance.
In this video the Portland police officer shows the skill of a seasoned game warden using a towel to shield and calm the animal whilst he removed the can and then making a hasty retreat before the little one felt threatened and reacted in the way only a skunk can. So in the end everyone left happy and smelling the same as they did when the video began. Thanks to Tracie for recording the event and Maine’s finest for helping out with such skill.
