WARNING: Don't feed your cat this food!

The J.M. Smucker Company, producers of Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Ultra Premium Chicken & Liver Pate' Formula cat food, has voluntarily recalled the product because of potential deadly health concerns.  Cat owners, have we got your attention yet?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration informs us that the product contains "elevated levels of choline chloride."    In a press release from J.M. Smucker Company, a family pet that consumes the product may experience "nausea with excessive salivation, constricted pupils and poor vision, diarrhea or vomiting to more severe symptoms including difficulty walking, muscle shaking, tremors, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, possible cardiac or respiratory failure and, in extreme situations, death."

The product is sold across the United States and Canada, and you should immediately check your supply of cat food for it so that you can dispose of it before mistakenly feeding this particular food to your beloved kitty.

If your cat does consume the product and begins to display any of the symptoms mentioned above, then you should bring your animal to a veterinarian for treatment immediately. Don't wait!
