Lizzie is a fluffy black dog who could easily be mistaken for a small bear. She’s more like a teddy bear than anything!

Her thick fur is soft and and Lizzie enjoys having it brushed. We think she is 10-12 years old.

Lizzie doesn’t hear very well anymore, but she does see and likes to look at the world around her. Lizzie spends a lot of time napping, but she hops right up when she sees a car in the driveway. She makes the cutest little “woofs” to let us know when there’s a visitor.

Lizzie gets along well with just about everyone she meets! She has lived with children, ignores cats, and doesn’t mind other dogs. Lizzie sometimes keeps us company in the shelter lobby. She likes to lay in the sunshine by the door. If you’re looking for a gentle teddy bear, come meet Lizzie!

Call the shelter at (207) 667-8088 to schedule a meeting, or just drop by!
