Here's a reason to sip on a Guinness this St. Patrick's Day: The price per-pint in Maine are among the cheapest in the country.

Tossing back a Guinness or two won't run your tab sky high here in Maine. That's of course if a pint or two doesn't lead to five or ten more. According to Casino.org, pints of the go-to St. Paddy's beer costs on average about $4.83 in Maine. Overall Maine ranks third in the country for the cheapest pints of Guinness. Montana ranks at No. 1, at $4.33, with New Hampshire at No. 2, at $4.72.

Maine ties Montana for first at $3 a pint as the cheapest Guinness can be found. Some places in Maine are charging as much as $6 a pint, which is still cheaper than other states around the country. Illinois and Nevada are states with the biggest spend for a pint of Guinness, at a thirsty $10.

At 9.6 breweries per capita, Maine ranks third in the country. Back in 2019, Beer Connoisseur ranked Maine 11th in the country for beer lovers. The website said: "Allagash is one of the best breweries in the country and helped set the stage for a bundle of other breweries pouring delicious funky and sour beers. Newer breweries like Bissell BrothersBaxter Brewing Co. and Maine Beer Co. are hot on Allagash’s heels, however, with the latter producing some of the hottest beers in the market with Lunch IPA and Dinner Double IPA."
