I think anyone that has a pet has always suspected that they have a concept of time and schedule. You know that day you didn't get up on time and suddenly your dog is staring you in the face.

In my house this is true for the bunny also.  If I am late with breakfast he pops up on the bed to remind me of the time. So needless to say to have Northwestern University's research prove this really confirms what we have always assumed to be true.

According to the study there is a part of all animal's brains that recognize when they are waiting.  In a study using mice they found that they were successful using their internal understanding of time to negotiate a complex mazes.

The understanding of these neurons they added may also have human indications for detecting Alzheimer disease.
