Are you a Wheel of Fortune fan? If so the weekend of June 21st is your chance to shine.  I was watching Wheel last night while waiting to see if James would really lose on Jeopardy...he did. And that is when I remembered that Mainers in our area were going to have a chance to play this month.

The Wheelmobile as they call it will be showing up to the University of Maine Collins Center for an event held on both June 21st and 22nd. The actual event is not in the Winnebago though. It will be put on inside the Hutchins Concert Hall located within Collins Center for the Arts. Those wishing to participate will enter through the Hutchins Concert Hall Entry Pavilion. They will have applications there in the lobby if you want a chance to play. Event times both days are 5 PM - 9 PM. Hutchins Concert Hall is found at 2 Flagstaff Road in Orono.

What you can be sure of is an interesting experience but not a guarantee of playing the game. The players are chosen for a speed round version of the game that lasts about one hour according to FOX. Five players go for each session and each day there are three sessions. They will choose player at random. Some of the restrictions are :

  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • You are not eligible to appear on Wheel of Fortune if you have appeared on Wheel or any another game shows
  • All expenses incurred while interviewing and (if selected as a contestant) appearing on the show, including airfare, hotel, etc. are the responsibility of the applicant.
  • A contestant audition does not guarantee a spot on the show. The applicant understands that Wheel of Fortune is under no obligation to use him/her as a contestant. It is entirely at the producer's discretion.

See the full list here and good luck.

Here is a little sneak peek of what it looked like in Baltimore.
