Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that suck! Today Ma and I dug into the our tool boxes an headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to put the hammer down on Thor: The Dark World. This movie runs approximately 2 hours and comes under the heading of Action | Adventure | Fantasy.  It is rated PG-13 for sequences of intense sci-fi action and violence, and some suggestive content. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Rene Russo
Summary: An evil Elven race, once defeated by Thor’s grandfather, is planning to rise again and take advantage of a rare alignment of universes to plunge everything into their preferred darkness and ending the lives of everyone and everything but them. Faced with this enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor rejoins with his brother Loki to embark on a quest to vanquish the plot which reunites Thor with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Review: Of all the Marvel comic book characters I will confess that Thor is my least favorite. I also plan to see the Avengers so I kind of have to see this to be fully up to speed. And I must admit, seeing Chris Helmsworth without a shirt on is worth 8 bucks even if he just stands there. Natalie Portmen too is pretty but I find her acting a little stiff.  Overall the story was ok and the special effects were amazing.  I am not a fan of plot lines where no real rules seem to apply, I.E.…he dead…he’s not dead...he’s dead…he’s not dead. Pushed me into a “whatever” mindset. On a scale of 1-10 I’d give Thor: The Dark World a 7.
