Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Last night I grabbed a stagecoach and headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see 'The Hateful Eight'.

This is a comedy, drama, mystery that runs 2 hours and 45 minutes. The movie is rated R for strong bloody violence, a scene of violent sexual content, language and some graphic nudity. The movie stars Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Bruce Dern.

Summary:

While traveling through Wyoming by stagecoach to the town of Red Rock in hopes of collecting a bounty on the nefarious outlaw Daisey Domergue, (Jennifer Jason Leigh) John Ruth (Kurt Russell) picks up several stranded travelers. Halted by a snow storm they take shelter in a cabin already occupied by four interesting characters, none of which are the cabin’s owners. Tempers fly and tension will result in blood but whose??

Review:

You know me when I saw this movie ran 2:47 I was not excited and all I had let myself know is that there would be blood and violence so I could set my nerves. What I did not know or expect was that Quentin Tarantino had written a dark comedy /mystery of sorts set just after the Civil War’s end. Set up similarly to a silent movie this movie is artfully done, has incredibly cleaver dialogue and beautifully written characters. The entire cast is really wonderful and Kurt Russell, Jenifer Jason Leigh and Samuel L Jackson deliver spectacular performances. As for the violence there is plenty of blood usually delivers in an over the top explosive way, so prepare yourself. Also brace for full frontal nudity and sex but none of it coming the way you’d expect (no pun intended). To my own amazement this movie comfortable held my attention, I laughed and jumped many time with shock and surprise. So on a scale of 1-10 I am giving 'Hateful Eight' a 9.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
