Hotel at BIA Under New Management; New Name, Big Changes Planned

For years, the hotel that's connected to Bangor International Airport, via a big glass-encased skyway, has been called the Four Points by Sheraton.

But come next week, that will change.

"The Bangor Aviator" as it's slated to be called will also be getting both a new look and a new feel when the building receives a facelift this spring.

A social media post from this weekend, on the Four Points Facebook Page, detailed exactly what's in store:

"This Spring the lobby, restaurant and meeting rooms will be renovated with an aviation theme. Godfrey's Grille will now be known as Tailwinds Grille and Lounge."

Along with the update to its facilities, The Bangor Aviator is also getting some new management...well, new to the role, but not the business.

"We are also excited to announce that Valerie Cross has been promoted to General Manager, a well-deserved promotion following 23 years of hard work and experience including Front Desk, Sales, Front Office, Revenue, and Social Media Manager, and most recently Hotel Manager where she managed the hotel through the change from Starwood to Marriot, and through the pandemic with a steady hand and with great success."

New Castle Hotels & Resorts of Ridgefield, CT has owned this building for the past 40 years, when it was first known as the Bangor Hilton.

When asked, in the comment section, some specifics about what will be staying and going as far as renovations are concerned, the management team had this to say:

"We will have much more freedom to make the hotel truly unique. We've got great plans things planned!"

Look for work to begin this spring.
