Bangor Home Heavily Damaged in Sunday Morning Fire
A morning fire caused serious damage to a two-story home at 311 Broadway in Bangor on Sunday.
We're told by officials from the Bangor Fire Department that the folks occupying the building at the time the fire broke out, were the ones who actually called to report the fire just after 8 AM.
There is no word on a cause. The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
It was an "all hands" fire that brought all three of the fire stations in Bangor to the scene.
The building, which was located up the street from St. Joseph's Hospital, sustained heavy damage.
Everyone inside the building had made it outside by the time firefighters arrived.
There were some minor injuries and several people were taken to the hospital for burns, according to Bangor Fire Department officials. No firefighters were injured.
Bangor Fire was assisted by Air Guard Engine 11 from the base. Neighboring departments covered the Bangor stations and calls while firefighters were on the scene.
The home has been on the market since at least last fall, and was currently listed as "pending."
No word yet on if the structure was insured.
