Uber Eats and the like doesn't really exist on MDI.

If you want food delivered in the Bar Harbor/MDI area, you can certainly depend on the types of businesses that offer delivery. Maybe you can get a pizza delivered or something like that, but what if you wanted something a little more off the beaten path. In Bangor, no big, you hit up Uber Eats or Door Dash.

But what if you live in an area where those things are either prohibitively expensive for a delivery, or delivery to your area just doesn't exist at all? In this cursed pandemic, not everyone is comfortable going out to eat, so some folks have had to all but abandon their favorite spots.

Jason Sanchez faced this same exact issue on the island.

An accident a couple years ago left Sanchez in a wheelchair, according to WABI. Because of this, and it being the early days of the quarantine, Jason started calling local businesses asking if they delivered. After repeated answers that they weren't, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

Enter "Sanchez Delivery & More". It's Jason's own spin on the popular delivery services that those of us in less rural/remote areas have grown pretty used to. For a fee, they will pick up just about anything, anywhere, and bring it right to you. Maybe you want something from a business that doesn't deliver, Sanchez will do it for you.

Folks have described it as a "game-changer" for the area. They'll pick up food from restaurants, your groceries... whatever you need. In an area that also lacks off-season employment opportunities, self employment is also a bonus. Congrats to Jason for solving a problem, and making pandeminade out of life's lemons....
