Brewer Laundromat Suds in the Bucket Expands to Dover Foxcroft

It was just before Christmas of last year when Kristi and Nate Santos opened their Suds In The Bucket laundromat on North Main Street in Brewer.

This month, they've expanded their operation to Dover Foxcroft, opening a Suds in the Bucket location at 25 North St.

The couple purchased the second location in Dover Foxcroft in January 2023, with the intent of remodeling and retooling an already existing laundromat that was deteriorating.

Santos said they gave the exterior of the building a facelift in March and finalized the order of new equipment in May. After a wait of a couple of months, the machines were finally delivered and installed over the summer, creating quite a buzz in town and on the local Dover Foxcroft Community social media pages.

"New equipment finally arrived 8/14/23 and was promptly installed that day. "

Santos said the mechanical upgrades were made last week and the floors were replaced throughout the building. He says the new equipment has been operational for the past week, allowing time for any glitches to be worked out.

And now with the window lettering complete, folks can finally get caught up on their laundry.

"The following brand-new Speed Queen equipment was installed: 2 60# washers 4 40# washers 3 30# washers 4 20# washers 4 45# double stack dryers."

Santos said a number of local contractors worked on this project, including Daniels Equipment, Santos Custom Builders, W.C. Omlar Electric Reliance Energy Services, and JP Robert’s heating and plumbing.

In addition to the renovation and revamping of the new space in Dover Foxcroft, the couple has also upgraded some of the equipment in their Brewer laundromat.

"Brewer location has 4 brand new Speed Queen 30# double-stack dryers too."

Both Suds In The Bucket laundromat locations are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
