They're only saying what we're all thinking.

The Clinton Police Department, is finally taking some action and trying to solve a mystery most Mainers have been wondering about for what seems like the entire month of May: Where has Spring gone?

Clinton Police Department's Public Information Officer, Mike Conners, says they have officially opened a missing season investigation on Spring. He made the announcement of the Department's Facebook Page.

"If anyone has information on the whereabouts of spring, let us know. We’re cold. We’re bitter. We’ve worn the same hoodie and base layers for nine straight days. Give us a shout if you need us. We’ll be out there patrolling in our department-issued parkas."

He issued guidelines for Mainers that will be helpful for surviving these uncertain times, and has asked for the public's help in locating this season, which was only seen for a short time, and then seemed to disappear into thin air almost overnight.

Officer Conners' advice on the wool socks, parkas and mittens is solid.

I know many of us want to bury our heads (or in this case, our feet, preferably in a tropical location) in the sand, but he's right, Spring's missing and we need to find it. Maybe when we do, it will be with Summer, and we can rescue them both!

Until then, we should all take precautions, and be on the look out for this elusive season.

Conners says we all need to keep an eye on the horizon for any clues as to where Spring might have gone.

" Thanks for helping spread the word. The more people we have to BOLO, the better."
