The National Weather Service says a tornado did touch down in St. Albans Tuesday evening.

You don't have to click around too much on Facebook or Twitter to find photos from the insane weather Maine experienced Tuesday. Heavy rain, hail, thunder and lightning and now a legit tornado.

The National Weather Service spent this morning surveying the damage from the storm. St. Albans was littered with uprooted trees and property damage. Some trees were found laying right to left nearly snapped off, a telltale sign of a tornado.

The National Weather Service says an EF 1 tornado hit Hanson Drive. It had wind speeds of 80-90 MPH.
