While the Town of Holden and Holden's Police Department, under the leadership of new Chief Eddie Benjamin, have done a wonderful job keeping his legacy alive, through the 25 Days of Kindness campaign Greeley started, there are other projects that continue to benefit from Greeley's involvement.

It will likely come as no surprise to anyone who knew him, but Chris Greeley was involved in many projects during his time as Holden's Police Chief.
One of the ones that many may not have known about, was his involvement as a consultant to a pair of German writers who were working on a novel set here in the state of Maine.
According to folks at the police department, he'd been working with these folks for a couple of years on this project.
"Apparently the authors reached out to multiple Maine Police Chiefs explaining that they were writing a story about a small town, in Maine where everyone knows everyone and how they deal with criminal behavior. Chris was the only Chief to email them back and thus began the conversation and technical assistance with the book."
Sadly, Chief Greeley died just prior to the book being published, but the authors wanted to honor Greeley for his help. So they reached out to Chief Benjamin with a special request.
They sent a copy to Chief Benjamin recently.
As they say, the book is not yet available in English (but my mom happens to speak German, so I had her translate it for us.)
The dedication of the book 19 Years, A Novel From Eden Lake reads:
"For my dear son, Ben, who is filling heaven with his stories. And for Binky and Freida, you are my yesterday, my today, and my tomorrow.
