There Are Ghoulish Things Going On In Glenburn, Maine This Month!
If you're not a fan of the gory, the jumpy, or the super spooky, but you'd still like to enjoy a seasonal Halloween outing with the family, the Glenburn Parks and Recreation Department is bringing back its "Halloween Trail" this year.

They started this back during the pandemic as a way for folks to celebrate Halloween in a way that brought people outside and let them social distance. It was such a fun time, for all ages, that they've brought it back, year after year.
According to their Facebook Page, this year's "Halloween Trail" will open on Saturday, October 18th, and run through Halloween, Friday, October 31st. The trail will be open daily from 4 PM to 9 PM. There's no admission charge to walk the trail.
As someone who's been going to this trail with kids since its inception, I can tell you it's great for kids of all ages.
I would recommend wearing comfortable footwear and bringing a flashlight with you, as the walk from the trail's end back to the school parking lot is a little bit of a distance, unless, of course, you hop on one of the hay rides that go back and forth between the trail and the parking lot.
They do a good job decorating and marking the rocks and roots that jut out with bright paint.

The trail is located directly behind the school; follow the lights to the entrance. It is also monitored with cameras.
It was spooky enough to be exciting in the dark (and there happened to be some fog the night we went, so extra spooky), but definitely family-friendly enough so that you could bring the littlest of littles and it would be ok.

There's nothing that will jump out at you, and nothing too scary. The only thing that might make you jump a little is when the motion sensors trigger one of the decorations that makes sounds. That can be a little unnerving.
If you want to plan a double helping of Halloween fun, you could pair your walk along the trail with the Glenburn Parks and Rec "Trunk or Treat" event taking place in the parking lot of the Glenburn School on Saturday, October 25th, from 4 PM to 6:30 PM.
Visitors are encouraged to don their best "Family Friendly" costumes and take a stroll through the parking lot to collect candy. The "No Bones Grill" food truck will be on hand if you want to grab a quick dinner.
There's also no charge for this event.
