Glenburn Convenience Store Will Reopen Kitchen Under New Ownership
While it's changed hands a few times over the decades it's been open, the Village Variety convenience store in Glenburn has been a staple for folks in town for many years.
For a long while, one of the great features of the shop was that they made fresh food in their kitchen.
You could pop in, gas up, grab a loaf of bread and dinner on the way home.
But this past season, the kitchen closed down, and they haven't been offering homemade fare this year.
That's all about to change though, as the store is now under new ownership.
Local businessman, Parth Patel, recently bought the place.
Partel also acquired the Levant Corner Store from its long-time owners in February of 2023. While Patel does not own that shop anymore, it's still in the family, now belonging to his cousin.

Patel next purchased Roger's Market in Hudson this past August, when its long-time owners retired.

He took over ownership of Village Variety on Decmeber 7th to this year.
Patel says it's factors like visibility, foot traffic, local demographics, and competition that are key in the decision-making process when he's looking for a store to buy.
"These spots are chosen for their potential to attract the target audience and drive sales."
Partel says he's got big plans for the Village Variety.
"We are changing the whole layout of the store... be on the lookout for new changes this upcoming week."
One of his plans it to open the kitchen back up and offer homemade food again.
"We are bringing the same food menu from Roger’s market [to Village Variety], especially the steak and cheese."
Patel wants to thank the communities of Hudson and Glenburn for supporting his purchases of these stores, and for supporting his vision to improve them so they'll be able to offer folks more of a variety of the things they need and want.
Village Variety is located at 3325 Broadway in Glenburn. You can also follow the shop online through its Facebook Page, here.
