Man Allegedly Stole Car In Hudson, Crashed It In Glenburn & Sold Contents In Bangor
Authorities believe they have found the person responsible for stealing a car in Hudson, crashing it in Glenburn, and then selling its contents in a pawn shop in Bangor.
According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department, someone on Alton Tannery Road in Hudson called the Penobscot Regional Dispatch to report a vehicle had been stolen from that location.
The vehicle is believed to be the same one authorities think was involved in an incident on Broadway in Glenburn.
"On October 30, 2024, at 0812 a.m., the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a hit-and-run traffic crash on Broadway in Glenburn. When the report was received, the vehicle was last seen traveling into Bangor. A short time later, the car was abandoned at a store at the intersection of Griffin Road and Ohio Street in Bangor... It was determined that the vehicle stolen was the exact vehicle involved in the hit-and-run in Glenburn."
The Sheriff's Department says it received information that a male subject had been involved in the crash and ran from the scene carrying some musical gear, including a guitar and speaker.
Authorities believe the person who crashed the car and took the gear was 21-year-old Andrew Wright.
When they caught up with Wright in Bangor, he told the cops he had sold the speaker for drugs.
Wright was charged with felony counts of Theft and Unauthorized Use for taking the items for the car. He also faces charges stemming from the hit-and-run.
Both the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office and The Bangor PD are working on this case.
