Gable is our SPCA of Hancock County Pet of the Week, and this guy is a super soft, gray, and white male bi-color cat.

Our boy was named after the Clark Gable, the actor who starred in Gone With The Wind, because he's soooo very handsome.Unlike most Hollywood actors, Gable can be shy at first, however, he is ultimately a sucker for people’s pats. He especially loves them on each side of his face, when you rub his cheeks.

Gable must go to a home with another cat because he flourishes with feline company. So, we ask that you consider adopting a pair of facts from here at SPCA shelter,  or adding him to your family of kitties at home. The staff at the SPCA recommends a home without small children as Gable tends to not know his own strength while playing and might not like all that commotion.

He is an independent cat so Gable loves people’s attention, but he wants it when HE wants it. So he's not the kind of kitty that needs coddling. He will enjoy investigating his new home, and snoozing in the sun with his favorite human, but just don't forget to call him for dinner!

So we hope that either you or someone that you may know makes an appointment at the SPCA of Hancock County to meet Gable and find out about this guy for yourself.

he SPCA of Hancock County serves Ellsworth, Mount Desert Island and beyond, and is still operating by appointment-only for the safety of the animals, as well as visitors and staff. If you are looking to adopt, please check their website where they have an adoption application and the available animals listed. For general inquiries, please call them at 207-667-8088, email info@spcahancockcounty.org, or send them a Facebook message. The shelter is located on Route 3 in Trenton.
