Great news for Bangor folks. Yard sale permits will now be issued by the city. It's funny, my wife and I were just saying over the weekend that we thought it was strange we hadn't seen any yard sales yet. And maybe this is why. But I gotta be honest... I never knew you had to have a permit for a yard sale. SO I've lived in sin many times. Whoops!

But according to WABI - TV5, you can now get them. However, the city does ask that at your yard sale, you follow all safety protocol currently set up by the state as far as masking, social distancing, etc. So you may consider checking some online resources. In fact, you can look at those guidelines here.

I have to admit, I'm a little weary of going into other people's yards, but on the other hand, YARD SALES! I know it's going to be nearly impossible to keep K Stew in the car if we drive by one. She's the type who's already got the door open and one foot out before the car even comes to a complete stop.

Although, she and I look for totally separate types of things. She's all about the furniture, and other giant things that never wanna fit in the car. Like 7 ft. lamps, and giant rugs, or chairs. Me? I just want all the kitchen stuff. Old cast iron pans, knives... al that kinda stuff.

It doesn't matter what anyone likes. the fact is, it's one more little thing, or big thing depending on how you look at it, that we can add to the list of getting things back on track. They've gotta be safer than regular stores in some ways, being outdoors by their very nature. But just doing something familiar, outside of the house? Awesome.

You know you're from Bangor when ...
