Throw Back Thursday: What’s Your Favorite Movie Of All Time?
Cori: This all started when JStew & I came across a recent study that said "Road House, starring Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliott, is shown on basic cable more often than any other movie in America.
That got the two of us talking about our favorite movies of all time.
We all have them; the movies that no matter what's going on in our lives, the minute they come on TV, we stop everything to watch them. We know every line, every intonation, every scene by heart. We've stopped counting the number of times we've seen them because we lost track when we got past a hundred.
For me, it's a toss up between Jim Henson's "Labyrinth" with David Bowie and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" with Tim Curry. I've seen both countless times. In fact, I'm pretty sure I used a line from Labyrinth as one of my Senior Quotes in High School!
JStew: It's hard to narrow it down to one favorite movie of all time. But there are certain movies where I have to watch it til the end if I run into it on TV. The Princess Bride is always one of them. I've also seen The Shining at least 20 times. I love any movie that pushes the actors to the limit, and I'd say that was the case for the whole cast of The Shining.
To be fair, I think that also applies to the cast of The Princess Bride in a slightly different way. Just think of all the work that went into the big sword fight scene between Inigo and Dread Pirate Roberts. they practiced that for months to get that right. Dedication wins every time with me, for sure. Let's look at your faves too!
We asked you to weigh in on the matter, and you came up with some good ones!
One caller said it for him, it was a toss up between "Star Wars" and "Jaws!"
