Tonight’s mystery artist at one time was so poor he had to play on the street to make enough money to eat.  Think you know whose tenacity would never let him give up??

I confess I am stealing tonight’s story from Uncle Joe Benson’s interview with George Thorogood.  Although today he is a success and has sold over 15 million albums  there was a time when he was trying to break in but having no luck.  In George’s words he would eventually try being a street musician just to survive saying:

"So, I’m standing on a street corner, I got nothing to eat, I gotta do something. So he began to playing. “I just got a few pennies, got a few quarters … went and bought a hot dog or something, and that’s what I did.”

The lesson here we see is doing what you need to in order to get you through until you make it is a test of will as much as skill.

Here he is with tonight's featured song.
