Tonight’s mystery artist created an album where rock critics said he sounded like Rod Stewart singing songs written by Bruce Springsteen. They also commented that it was not written for teenagers.  Can you guess the artist or album??

Critics loved this album and so did everyone else apparently since in the long run ‘Night Moves’ went sextuple platinum for Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.  Wikipedia tells how this was his first album with the band.  They also tell of all the critical acclaim it received.

  • Robert Christgau“riffs on Night Moves are classic rock and roll riffs, like those performed by Chuck Berry or the Rolling Stones”

  • The Rolling Stonereview of the album by Kit Rachlis stated that “the album is one of the best to come out of 1976-77, that Seger sounds like Rod Stewart and writes lyrics like Bruce Springsteen, and that album is classic rock and roll”.

Many of Bob Seger’s hit came from this effort including, Rock and Roll Never Forgets, Night Moves, Fire Down Below, Main Street, Come To Poppa and tonight’s featured song, Sunspot Baby.
