In a heartfelt announcement on its Facebook page, Black Bear Brewery has revealed that it will be bidding farewell to its downtown Bangor location. The brewery expressed its reasons behind this decision, emphasizing the need to restore personal balance and focus on its beloved Orono brewery and taproom.

The independently owned and operated Black Bear Brewery has been a fixture of the city's vibrant bar scene since its opening in 2018. Its cozy taproom, nestled downtown, won the hearts of locals and visitors alike, quickly making it a staple for Bangor bar-hoppers. Throughout its five years of operation, the Bangor location has created a welcoming space for patrons.

In their Facebook post, the Black Bear Brewery team extended their gratitude to the wonderful people of Bangor who have shown unwavering support over the years. Their loyal customers have made every moment memorable, filling the taproom with laughter and camaraderie.

While it is undoubtedly a bittersweet moment for all, there's still an opportunity to raise a glass one last time at the Bangor location. From Wednesday to Friday, the doors will remain open from 3 pm to 9 pm. Although the kitchen will be closed, folks are warmly welcome to bring their own takeout and enjoy the last moments in this cherished space.

As the sun sets on the Bangor chapter, Black Bear Brewery looks ahead to continuing the exciting prospects at their location in Orono. Located at 19 Mill St. in downtown Orono, the brewery is eager to keep pouring its renowned craft beers and has plans to host weekly trivia nights and open mic sessions, ensuring there's never a dull moment in "Orono's Livingroom."

Cheers to Black Bear Brewery, for the great beer, the good times, and the togetherness shared. May your journey in Orono be just as exceptional, and may you continue to thrive as a beloved cornerstone of the community.
