If you are looking for a fun August getaway, this just might fit the bill!

The idea of racing a bed down the middle of Main Street in Skowhegan, for a cash prize, sounds like a ton of fun, doesn’t it? That is just one of the many events happening next month, during "Moonlight Madness"

Moonlight Madness in Downtown Skowhegan, is just one part of River Fest, an annual, multi-day event held every August, by the Skowhegan Regional Chamber of Commerce, that celebrates life and recreation.

Crazy to think about, but this event started in 1823! So that makes this the 200th edition, so the party is bigger and better than ever this year.

This huge street party takes place on Friday, August 4th, from 5pm-9pm

There are a ton of activities planned for this Bicentennial edition of "Moonlight Madness"

- Dunk Tank
- Bounce House
- Axe Throwing
- Makers Market
- Live Music-The Papa Tim Band and Borderline Express!
- Chainsaw Carving
- Lumber Jack & Jill Runway
- Bed Races at 7pm!

You can enjoy beverages at three outdoor beer gardens—behind Unwined, adjacent to the Old Mill Pub, and next to Bloomfield's—while listening to live music.

And you can't forget food! Brother Shuckers and Tara-bly Good Catering food trucks, will be parked along Water Street in front of Coburn Park

Skowhegan River Fest runs from Tuesday, August 1st-Sunday, August 6th, and there of plenty of events for everyone to enjoy!
