I've been everywhere, man.

In my younger days, it's no secret I spent most of my time on the road, on tour. As such, I've tried every manner of food all across the U.S., good and bad. I've had some truly awful things, but I'm  not sure I've ever left any state and said to myself, "man.... that state's bread is just terrible." Have you?

Folks online hurled every imaginable insult you might be inclined to throw at a person whose state is most famous for casino ghost towns, and Snookie & J Wow.

Well, one dude on Reddit from New Jersey decided that's where he needed to focus on. On the r/Maine thread on Reddit, u/chuckusmaximus said that in his time here, specifically in the Bangor area, that the bread, all of it, was horrendous. Bagels, burger buns... you name it, he hated them all.

He said he went to a "local" bagel shop and hated the bagels. He then went to another local restaurant and complained about the burger buns. then he went to another place he described as a "diner" and described his biscuits as hockey pucks, leaving us to wonder if any place was good enough for this guy. He hated everything.

With the exception of just one place...

Apparently, this dude pretty much fell in love with Tim Horton's. This certainly drew a lot of bad feelings and words from Mainers who just didn't want to hear this kind of crap from a Jersey flatlander. After blasting local restaurants and bagel shops, he went on to sing the praises of Timmy HoHo's to anyone that would listen.

Folks online hurled every imaginable insult you might be inclined to throw at a person whose state is most famous for casino ghost towns, and Snookie & J Wow. So we Mainers showed this guy how we roll. To be fair, he took it well and even responded to some of the comments.

However, the general rule of thumb in the thread was, don't judge all the bread in Maine by the three places you went in the middle of a pandemic. Between staffing shortages and businesses trying their hardest right now, most folks thought he should just chill out. Maybe next time he comes, Bangor's new Jersey Mike's location will be ready to go.

But will he like the bread?

Wild Edible Mushrooms Here In Maine

Tasty fungi from the Maine woods. But, remember, never eat a wild mushroom without positive identification.

These Are Maine and New Hampshire's Favorite Foods for Leftovers

After a national survey was done on American's favorite foods for leftovers, we asked Mainers and Granite Staters the same question to see how we compare to the rest of the country.
