Know Of A Crime Happening In Bangor? Now You Can Tap The App To Report It Anonymously
The Bangor Police Department is making the process of submitting an anonymous tip a little easier with the creation of a new Bangor PD App.
According to Sergeant Jason McAmbley, Public Information Officer with the Bangor Police Department, the new app will provide not only a place for folks to report illegal activity to authorities but also link people with the Bangor PD's different social media platforms, as well.
"We now have an app available for download that will allow for the anonymous submission of tips, to include pictures and video, to push out information and alerts to the public, and for people to communicate anonymously in real time with the police.
The app may be found on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, under Bangor PD. The icon is the department seal."
The concept is similar to the Apps other local law enforcement agencies, like the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, have put out. In the case of the Sheriff's Department, you can submit a tip, get hooked up with the latest Department News and Press Releases and there's even a space to leave questions and concerns.
The Bangor PD's app is pretty bare-bones at the moment, as it's pretty new. But we're sure they'll add to it as more people subscribe.
Speaking of App, if you haven't yet, you should download our free App, too.
