Today marks the beginning of the fourteenth annual Great Maine Outdoor Weekend, and there's plenty to do in our part of the state!

Biking, hiking, boating and crafts!  There's a lot going on!

There's the week long Sea Watch event at Schoodic Point, of course part of Acadia National Park, a four-mile hike up Great Pond Mountain and along the Hay Ledges Path in Orland, an annual bike-riding fund raiser in Perry, and a forest walk and then forest weaving in Bangor!

The Great Maine Outdoor Weekend is a project of the Maine Outdoor Coalition, and events actually span out across next week as well.  For a full listing of events, go HERE!

This week is a huge effort to get as many Mainers outside and connected to the great outdoors as possible” said Kaitlyn Bernard of the Appalachian Mountain Club and one of the planners of the week long event in a press release.
