I feel like the City of Bangor is toying with my emotions.

There's a little small strip of Essex Street in Bangor that, in my mind, is one of the most important little strips of road in the city. Okay, perhaps I'm exaggerating slightly, but it feels that way to me. I use it constantly. And for like 2+ years it seemed the little strip between York Street Hancock Street was closed, until last fall.

Then magically I drove by one day, and it was just open. It still looked like it had work to be done on it, but they opened it back up. Now I'm guessing that the plan was just to have it open for winter. Because fall, it opened back up again. Here we are at the end of April and it's closed. Again.

There's plenty of ways to work around it.

Now don't get me wrong, in the grand scheme of things, this isn't a big deal. There are streets on either side of it that will get you where you're going. But when you spenda ton of time utilizing this little strip, you feel it when it's gone. But you can easily use Pine Street or Boyd Street to access Hancock Street from York Street, and vice-versa.

Judging by all the concrete forms lying around at the site, I'm guessing it's been extensive sewer work that's being done. With any luck the warmer months will piece it all back together. I feel like all the latest construction projects are holding me up. I can't wait for the I-395 connector to be done either. It'll shave about ten minutes off my trip to camp. Fixing Essex Street won't actually help me out that much, but maybe I'll complain less? Nah... probably not.

Since fixing roads isn't that funny, let's laugh at their names.
