Experts Say Why July is the Best Month to Visit Bar Harbor, Maine
You'd be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful vacation spot than Maine.
I've lived here my whole life, and I've never gotten tired of living here. I've traveled all over the U.S. in my days as a professional musician, but no sight ever pleased me more than the Welcome to Maine sign when I got across the Piscataqua Bridge from NH into Maine. No matter how far I've ever gone away, Maine has been home.

On the other hand, having lived here my whole life, I've often left Maine when it was time for vacations. Again, I love it here, but sometimes you just want to see other places. As such, my wife and I will often research the best time to visit an area before we commit to our travel plans. But honestly, I haven't really though too much about when to do things here at home.
Let's be real... Where do people go in Maine the most?
When you're watching traffic roll into Maine in the summer months, locals know that minus a few stops along the way, most of those cars are headed for the Bar Harbor/Acadia region. Coastal Maine is really where it's at for lots of visitors. But based on the point I made above, when's the best time to come to the region?
According to LoveExploring.com, the best time to come visit our fine state, and the Acadia National Park area in particular, is during the month of July. There are many factors included... weather, open restaurants, and just the amount of things to do in general. July fits this bill best. One could argue August too... as a local who keeps and eye on these things.
Could one argue it's also the worst time?
I suppose you could, really. If you're a person who's going to be easily frustrated by crowds, or waiting in line to get into a restaurant, you may not like the Bar Harbor area in July. But that's ok. Things open up pretty well before school is even out, if you want to get a jump on the crowds.

Or, Maine's fall foliage season is another truly spectacular time to come to Maine. In the Acadia region, the leaf peeping is unmatched. The views from Cadillac Mountain, or any of the other amazing climbing spots make for unreal foliage viewing. So honestly, there aren't a lot of bad times to come see us. So what's keeping you?
