Who doesn't love a good pun?
Sadly, a lot of people. Some will argue that puns are the highest form of humor, and just as many will say it's the absolute lowest form of humor. I'm of course, in the former category. Ever since I was a kid, puns have been a thing. My Dad used to be all about them, and instilled it into my sister and me at an early age.
I remember one of my first successful puns ever was at the dinner table when I was like 7 or 8. We'd had fish for dinner and my mom asked me if I wanted any more. I looked her straight in the eye and said, "No thanks... I've haddock." I know it was good because everyone at the table groaned.
Puns are also a wildly successful marketing tool.
Naming anything can be a pain in the neck. Kids, bands, and especially businesses. You want your name to reflect not only what you do, but who you are. Your business name shouldn't throw people off track and make them wonder what you do. Sometimes a well placed pun in your business name can really drive that point home.
Places like the famously named salon, Curl Up & Dye (there's a few around Maine), or maybe Shed Happens, if you're looking for storage options. Or places like the now defunct but legendary, Wake & Bakery in Windham. You know what all these places have to offer because of their wildly catchy names.
