Maybe you've seen the clearing of land in the past couple of weeks, very efficiently by the way. In the photo the Nutrition Shack is at the very bottom on the right. The first of a few private homes is on the left closer to Bagaduce Road.  In between is the land we're talking about that is almost being cleared.

An exciting bit of news. And it is what it is not. The clearing of the land is not to build a marijuana dispensary, or storage units. Both those have been popular additions in nearby Bangor of late.

And the Holden town planning department issued the building permit on Tuesday of this week (9/6)

The building permit was issued to a company called Nexamp. And soon, they will be building a solar farm on that cleared property in Holden

Once they have completed the installation, the entire project will be fenced in, and something more eye pleasing will be done on the stretch that borders Main Road

The amount of cleared land is 19.5 acres and there is an area in the middle of the land that will remain as wetlands.

Not that I enjoy watching trees get taken down, even though we have a higher percentage of land being forest than any other state in the country, but I've watched the crews working over the past week or so, and it is a pretty amazing process.

And here is a sign from NexAmp that is further along 1A. They are the company building the solar farm

Today these parks are located throughout the country in 25 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The land encompassing them was either purchased or donated, though much of it had been inhabited by native people for thousands of years before the founding of the United States. These areas are protected and revered as educational resources about the natural world, and as spaces for exploration.
