Fingers crossed the wonderful weather forecast holds up for this weekend, as Old Town gets ready to celebrate its annual Riverfest festivities at Riverfront Park.

"Sept 22&23. Weekend of FREE activities for the family. Including kid's games, autobots, fireworks and parade! Food vendors will be available as well! Come join us for a weekend of fun in Old Town, ME!"

The event is set to kick off Friday evening at 5 PM with the National Anthem sung by Zenny.

Following the National Anthem, John Rush (aka The Human iPod) will perform a concert. Nearby, there will be hot air balloon rides, food vendors and the Autobots will be roaming around the park area.

Friday night will end with a fireworks show a the park.

On Saturday, the day will begin with a 5K race at the Old Town/Orono YMCA at 8 AM

After that, the annual Riverfest Parade will kick off a day full of family activities at the park, including Pony Rides, a Petting Zoo, an inflatable obstacle course, human foosball, laser tag, a mechanical bull, and a bungee run.

Throughout the day, there will be a craft fair, a car show, multiple food vendors a beverage garden for those who get thirsty or hungry.

The day will also be full of great musical guests including Zeny, Novel Jazz, and the UMaine Band. Saturday night will culminate with local favorite, funk band Motor Booty Affair, performing another concert in the park.
