Pat’s In Dover Foxcroft Closing On Mondays, Temporarily, To Make Upgrades
Since the pandemic, businesses everywhere have yet to fully recover from the issue of being short-staffed. One of the industries most impacted by staffing problems has been the food and beverage industry. Despite being 4 years in our rear-view, many Maine bars and restaurants are still struggling to find enough people to fill crucial wait staff and kitchen positions.
Unfortunately, this has led to longer wait times and service problems at many establishments across the state. Subsequently, it has also led to customer dissatisfaction in some instances.
The folks at Pat's Pizza in Dover-Foxcroft, have been doing their best to keep up with the demand of the busy summer season, while down a few positions. But they recently recognized it wasn't working out as they had hoped, so they've decided to pivot, and try something new.
According to their Facebook post, they're hoping to improve the satisfaction of customers' experience by taking some time to make some improvements and changes.
"We are, however, dedicated to resolving the issues. We will close on just Mondays starting the 12th, our kitchen will undergo a three-week closure on Mondays for equipment upgrades and training, reopening on Labor Day. This period will also see the introduction of a refined, more compact menu, designed to elevate our service and meet the expectations of our community. "
A number of people took to the comment section to voice their support.
One person said, "We ordered 3 pizzas online yesterday and when we arrived only 1 had been made. We assumed something like this was the reason, so even though we were irritated at the moment our food was fantastic as always. It's nice to see that you're working to correct deficiencies in customer service. You haven't lost us, we'll be back again."
Another wrote: "Good for you guys admitting you’ve fallen short of your goals. Hope you can get things back on track quickly."
And a third has this to say: "Count your blessings everyone - I'd rather an OK-at-best Pat's than no Pat's."
