Pepper’s Landing Restaurant Coming To Downtown Old Town
Wonder what is going into the old Boomhouse Restaurant in that big space on Main Street in downtown Old Town?
Wonder no longer.
Renovations are underway and in a couple of months that space will be the next Pepper’s Landing Restaurant.
How exciting. There are locations of Pepper’s Landing in Brunswick and also in Rochester, New Hampshire.
And the race is on for the opening of the second, and third locations in Maine. The schedule for opening in downtown Old Town is by April. And then a location in Westbrook by May.
If you’ve been to the Brunswick location, you know they are known for seafood. Bring it. Can’t wait. Back to their roots.
Ralph ‘Pepper’ Martin was born and grew up in Old Town and one of the current co-owners Morey Highbarger is from Old Town too. And Highbarger is also Pepper’s grandson.
Pepper was a character, storyteller, and a former Maine guide.
If you’re not able to pass the quiz about the history of Pepper Martin, not a problem. Here’s the story of this colorful man.
If the Old Town location’s menu is the same as the Pepper’s Landing menu from Brunswick -- and why wouldn’t it be? -- get ready for some lobster, clams, scallops, shrimp, oysters, haddock, and much more.
And remember the location overlooks the Penobscot River and the Milford Dam. Can’t wait to see what both look like, and what the renovated interior of the restaurant looks like once they open.
Oh, and of course, let's eat.
