Look at this pretty girl!  She's now available for adoption at the SPCA of Hancock County!

Spark is a 4-year-old short-haired tortie just crackling with life. She may only have three legs after losing one to infection years ago, but she makes up for it with extra toes on her other feet.

Some longtime supporters of the SPCA of Hancock County might recognize this green-eyed beauty, as she was a Pet of the Week back in 2019. She had a brief stint in a home since then but has come back to the shelter to look for her forever home, after recovering from a urinary track infection. Spark wasn’t the easiest patient for her family, and so they opted to give her a chance to find a home that matched her in patience and determination. Now she’s feeling much better and is ready for love!

Spark is good with kids and humans of all kinds and is particularly great at letting you know when she loves you. This clever girl is full of tortitude and loves it when someone will read her signals, which she readily communicates to anyone who is cat-savvy.

She does not want to live with other cats or dogs but would gladly keep someone company or would do well with a working family as long as she gets some time for pets and play with the people she loves.

We're hoping that you or someone that you know may be interested in Spark. Schedule an appointment to meet her in person!  She'll be wearing her Sunday best for you!

As a reminder, the SPCA of Hancock County is still operating by appointment-only for the safety of the animals, as well as visitors and staff. If you are looking to adopt, please check their website where they have an adoption application and the available animals listed. For general inquiries, please call them at 207-667-8088, email info@spcahancockcounty.org, or send them a Facebook message.
