Our SPCA of Hancock County Pet of the Week gets stressed easily.  Would you have someplace mellow that she could call her own?

Ellie is just another short haired tabby cat with white stockings. Or is she?

Ellie may look like a lot of other cats, but her story is extra special. Ellie has been here at the shelter twice now, and each time she has stayed for months on end. So far, she has been here for seven months this time around! Why?

Ellie is shy, and gets stressed out when there’s too much activity in her environment. When she’s stressed, her poor little tummy gives her all kinds of trouble, and she is afraid to come out and ask us to pet her. It’s hard for her to advocate for herself when she feels like that!

We’ve found that she loves other cats, and is most comfortable at quieter times of the day. All she needs is a quiet home of her own, where she has another feline friend or two (and if you don’t have another cat already, we can help with that!). Ellie is about two years old.

The SPCA of Hancock County is a no-kill facility, and currently has many cats and dogs available for adoption.  It’s located at 141 Bar Harbor Road in Trenton.  It’s open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between 11 AM – 5 PM.  Fridays and Saturdays between 11 AM – 6 PM.  Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Call them at call at 667-8088! Email them at info@spcahancockcounty.org.  Follow them on Facebook and check out the website too!
