Sweet Anna doesn’t hesitate to greet you with kisses, even at introductions, but one look at this patchy black and tan shepherd/lab mix and you can see she’s had a rough life.

She’s between 5 to 7 years old and came to the SPCA of Hancock County with her four 1-year-old children. Her skin is scabby and being treated with medicated baths, whereas she could use a full dental cleaning in her near future to take care of her bad teeth.

Anna was clearly starved before and ate what she could to get by, but that did a number on her teeth.

Anna LOVES treats, hugs, and kisses, and although she was never taught any commands or how to walk on a leash, she does her best and is eager to please.

She gets along well with other dogs, but we’re not sure how she’ll do with cats or young children at this point, though it is hard to imagine this sweetheart ever having a problem getting along with anybody.

She is a good girl who deserves all the love she can be offered, and she’ll give it back twofold.
