How about a kitty that is very sweet and loves to cuddle?  We thought you'd like that. But, as her name suggests, she has a bit of spice to her as well.

Out Pet of the Week is Kimchi, an all-black six-month-old kitten who has been at the SPCA of Hancock County since last month. This young lady loves to play with toy mice and to be free to chase them all around the room!

Kimchi has a few white whiskers and eyebrows on only half of her face, giving her a unique look!  She loves to snack on her dry kibbles, and rub all over her catnip-covered blankets.

Kimchi is a very sweet girl with an abundance of energy- always ready to play with stuffed mice and toys on a wand whenever enticed to do so. Because of Kimchi’s spiciness and playfulness, the staff at the SPCA recommends that she go to a home without little kids that might get hurt by her.

So far, she has not shown much love to the canine community and she has been pretty wishy-washy about how she feels about other cats as well. She likes them sometimes and hisses at other times, but everyone thinks she would do alright in a home with a laid back cat and plenty of places to run and explore!

So we hope that either you or someone that you may know makes an appointment at the SPCA of Hancock County to meet Kimchi and find out about this little girl all for yourself.

The SPCA of Hancock County serves Ellsworth, Mount Desert Island and beyond, and is still operating by appointment-only for the safety of the animals, as well as visitors and staff. If you are looking to adopt, please check their website where they have an adoption application and the available animals listed. For general inquiries, please call them at 207-667-8088, email info@spcahancockcounty.org, or send them a Facebook message. The shelter is located on Route 3 in Trenton.
