I'm too easily scared to want to see these things.

I'd like to think I'm a big tough guy when it comes to things like seeing UFOs, but I don't think I am. I'm pretty sure if I saw something that had truly no explanation, I'd run and hide somewhere until it was over. I wouldn't be one of those brave folks running out to fight the aliens in an invasion. I'd run screaming into the night.

Lately, a lot of folks have been putting up threads on Reddit and Facebook, asking about UFO sightings. Most of the time, it seems to be the Starlink satellite chains heading off into orbit. Sure, they're a bit odd, but totally explainable, especially after the fact. Info about their launches is super easy to find.

This weekend, the sight in the sky was a bit more real...

Even my stepbrother went on Facebook asking if people had just seen what he'd seen, and he's ex-military. I knew this must be legit in some way. So I went onto Reddit, and the Maine thread was lighting up with people saying they'd just seen the most insane thing in the night sky.

Check out this video footage from Reddit:

This definitely did not look like a chain of satellites entering orbit. But... It was the rocket that was taking them there. I think when NASA does things, we're used to it being a big televised event, etc. Since Elon Musk's Space X company is private, he can launch whenever he wants to a certain extent.

But that's what was in our sky over the weekend, was the rocket working to get those satellites airborne. But I have to agree, that was some pretty gnarly-looking footage, if you didn't know what to look for. But get used to it. Space X intends to launch thousands more of these small satellites in the coming years. Or, it's aliens. Who really knows?

Imagine camping and seeing all that? At least enjoy the fright as one of these cool glamping sites...
