Bangor is Going to Find Itself Under a Big Weather Blowtorch Next Week
I never get my hopes up when it comes to a Maine forecast.
Nothing personal to my brothers and sisters in the weather business. I don't blame you when things go screwy with the weather. I've said many times... Mother Nature hates us and only gives us the weather no one else wants. So when I look ahead at the 10-day forecast, I try not to get my hopes up at all. In fact, I ignore them in every way.
Sure, if you peek at the weather app on your phone or whatever, you may see that we're due for a big warmup next week. But even if we do get a day or two in the 70's, it will either be surrounded by crap weather on both sides, or it'll be nice, but with a catch. Like, it's 70 degrees, but it's 40mph winds. That's just how it goes in Maine.
All the weather outlets are certainly trying to het our hopes up.
When things kick in next week on Monday and Tuesday, it's allegedly going to start ramping up in a slight warming trend. It's going to be almost 60 on Monday, into the 60's on Tuesday, and then Wednesday and Thursday next week are supposed to climb north of the 70 degree mark. 10 days is a long ways away, so we'll just have to wait and see.
The National Weather Service in Caribou can confirm the first part, but I checked it against Weather.com and that site confirmed the rumors I'd been hearing. Again, it's a ways off, so anything can happen and often does. But I can honestly say I'm ready for my first 70+ degree day and leave all this other crap behind. I can't possibly be the only one... Bring on the heat!
