Bangor Drivers, If You Typically Use This Road, Get Ready For A Detour Next Week
Commuters who typically use Mount Hope Avenue in Bangor to get through the city will need to make some detours starting next week.
City Officials say they'll be closing off a section of the road as crews begin to repair storm drains in that area.
The particular spot that they'll be working on is on Mt. Hope Ave, about 700 ft East of Hogan Road. This closure will definitely have an impact on traffic around the businesses closest to where Hogan Rd. and Mt. Hope intersect.
According to the City's Facebook Page, the closure will start on October 10th and go through till early November.
"Mount Hope Avenue will be closed to through traffic, but local traffic will have access from State Street and Hogan Road. Access to driveways will be open at all times during the closure. All traffic, except for the Quirk Auto and 674 Mount Hope Avenue will need to access Mount Hope Avenue from State Street near the Veazie town line during the closure."
The post goes on to say that anyone who has any questions or concerns about the project can consult with the City's engineering department, specifically Richard May, by calling 207-992-4243 or emailing him at richard.may@bangormaine.gov.
