Thanks to a series of tips received from the public, Bangor PD caught up with the person they think robbed a local bank Tuesday.

The alleged robbery took place at the Bangor Savings Bank on Broadway around 3 PM Tuesday afternoon. Shortly after it happened, Bangor PD released a still frame from a video feed showing pretty plainly the person of interest they were looking for.

They put the word out to the public and asked for some help identifying the individual.

According to Bangor PD's Public Information Officer, Sergeant Jason McAmbley, investigators determined the man they were looking for was 32-year-old Donovan Steen of Bangor.

After finding out who he was, McAmbley says they later tracked down where he was, too.

"Steen was located near Dysart’s in Hermon by detectives and taken into custody without incident. He has been booked into the Penobscot County Jail on a charge of Robbery, Class B, a felony.

The Bangor Police Department would like to thank the public as a series of tips after the release of the robbery suspect photo quickly identified Steen as the suspect and a warrant had been issued for his arrest on the robbery charge."

Well done everyone.
