Bangor PD Trying To Tempt New Recruits With Tales Of ‘Free Time’ Fun
The City of Bangor is looking for a few good men and women to join it's ranks at the Bangor Police Department.
"Let's cut to the chase. We are searching for good—steadfast—well- trained law enforcement officers."
In a recent BPD Facebook Post, Lt. Tim Cotton went so far as to highlight not only the benefits of the job (the schedule, the contract...) but also went well out of his way to highlight the benefits outside of the job. In fact, he tasked current employees to share photos of what they're able to do, when not at work, because their job is so awesome.
"You will be among the best-paid cops in Maine, you will have time to spend with your family, and you will be working for a department with many, many opportunities.
This post isn't about police work. You've done that, you enjoy it, but you want more for your life and family; lean in and listen carefully."
In the over 2 dozen photos that were shared, off-duty police officers submitted pictures of themselves hiking, fishing, motorcycling, grilling out and exploring all that Maine has to offer.
There were pics of sunsets and snowmobiles, fish and firearms, paddles and pets and people. Lt. Cotton's point: you can WORK anywhere. But where you choose to LIVE can be the difference between enjoying your life and letting it pass you by.
He even went so far as to encourage folks to share the post, and included his own email address for prospective applicants to use, should they have questions.
So, feel free to spread the word; Bangor's open for business, and looking for folks who want to not just work here, but live here, too.
