Both Bangor & Brewer To Host “Coffee With A Cop” This Week
Often, when someone comes across a cop, it's not usually at a moment when they're calm, collected, and ready for a chat.
But local law enforcement agents want you to get to know them, not just in your hour of need, but when you don't need anything at all, except maybe a beverage and a smile.
That's why both Bangor and Brewer Police Departments are hosting separate "Coffee With A Cop" events this week.
Bangor's will take place Tuesday, August 1st, at Starbucks on Bangor Mall Boulevard, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Public Information Officer for the Bangor Police Department, Jason McAmbly, says everyone's invited out to meet some of the local police force and just chit-chat.
" 'Coffee with a Cop' events are opportunities to build relationships in order to better problem solve with the people officers serve. No speeches or specific topics. Just informal conversations about what matters to community residents, centered nicely around a cup of coffee."
Over in Brewer, their "Coffee With A Cop" event will take place on Saturday, August 5th from 9 AM to 11 AM.
According to their Facebook page, Folks are invited over to the Brewer Riverwalk Children's Garden, to meet members of the Brewer Police Department.
"Join Officers from the Brewer Police Department on the beautiful City of Brewer’s waterfront Riverwalk for a cup of coffee and conversation!"
Get to know the names and faces of the people who have pledged to protect you. And have coffee with a local cop this week.
