Celebrate ‘Winter In The Woods’ In Bradley Next Month
Trees and winter are two things with which the state of Maine has a long history. So it only makes sense that someone would find a way to celebrate both of these things at the same time.
At least that's the plan in Penobscot County next month.
"Winter In The Woods" is an event that will take place at the Maine Forest & Logging Museum in Bradley.
For those who aren't familiar with this space, it's specifically suited for such a celebration as it's been designed as a kind of time capsule of how important the lumber and logging industry has been to the state of Maine.
"We are an event-based outdoor living history museum. We preserve, demonstrate, and recreate our state’s rich forestry and logging history.
According to organizers, the event will be held with or without snow, so it doesn't matter if Mother Nature cooperates; they'll celebrate winter either way!
"The newest Lombard will be on Display, Author Tim Caverly will be in the settlers' cabin telling stories. Lord Byron the Blacksmith will be working hard in the blacksmith shop, and Axe Women Loggers of Maine will be providing demos."
We're told that the Smoke & Steel BBQ truck will be on hand, selling food to those who may get hungry.
The event will take place Saturday, February 15th from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Admission to the event is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 3 years old to 17, and members of the museum get in for free.
