Leaving Maine? Why not Buy This ‘Probably Haunted’ Funeral Home in MA?
We all know tons of Mass folks migrated to Maine...
It was one of the biggest growth spurts during the pandemic. Folks from Massachusetts anxious to leave where all the Covid was, hopped in the moving van and came up to Maine. Can you blame them? the hustle and bustle of Massachusetts is enough to make anybody want to run screaming into the night.
We have it pretty good up here. Mountains, streams, lakes, rivers, the ocean, wonderful fishing and hunting opportunities... That's why most of us who live here hardly ever leave. We'll complain about Maine until we die, but we stay here out of spite, almost. But there are definitely Mainers who look for a change.
If you're looking for a unique property out of state, this might be it.
You may have to be patient, because it would seem that 56 Main Street in Millbury MA, isn't quite up for sale yet, according to WCVB. The Turgeon Funeral Home is allgedly going up for sale soon. But there's on small catch... According to the current owners, it's "probably haunted". I mean, it is a funeral home...
The home was built in 1850 as a private residence, but it's been a funeral home for a while now. The would-be listing realtor describes the spot as, "not sure if it truly is haunted, but given the age, I suppose it's a possibility..." You can't really argue with that. The house was last sold over 20 years ago for $100. That says something too, I think.
If you're leaving Maine anyway, you might as well dive right into something totally crazy. The worst that could happen is that it's totally 100% haunted, and your life might end up in danger. Other than that, what else could possibly go wrong, buying a "probably haunted" funeral home?! You just need to chill...
Since you're already thinking about freaking yourself out...
