Flood waters don't mess around.

Flood waters are crazy. I don't mean necessarily in the literal sense, but there's no mercy or recognition when the floods come around. the water goes where the water goes. Sometimes that's in your front yard. Sometimes it all ends up in your basement. But one thing is for certain, you can't stop. At best, you can only hope to contain it.

The last few days, I've driven around different places and seen bridges with maybe a foot of space underneath it. I've seen houses that looked like an island in the middle of people's yards. But there are some things you hope you never see when there's a flood. Among those things, caskets would probably be right at the top of the list.

First and foremost, there was probably no one inside the casket.

According to News Center Maine's Keith Carson, there hasn't really been enough flooding that would cause a casket to be surfaced from underground. But with flood waters reaching in to all manner of buildings around Maine, it's possible it came from a local spot. But police haven't received any news so far, that would indicate there's a missing body anywhere. Check out the video below:

City workers and law enforcement have also looked into nearby cemeteries, and found nothing that's connected to the casket found floating in the Androscoggin River. But, one doesn't have to look very far to find videos of all manner of other things floating down the rivers and streams of Maine.

There have been cars floating downstream, bridges, driveways, shopping carts... you name it. Washouts, all sorts of things. But this takes the cake. Hopefully, as the next few days go by, the waters recede quickly, the power comes back and we can start to get back to normal. Cross your fingers, kids...

With all we've been going through here in Maine, maybe it's time for a little trip somewhere else for a minute...
