Really, this is social distancing at it's finest. Shacking up in a cabin, 60 miles from the nearest town, all by yourself. To a lot of people this sounds like a dream come true. Especially after spending every waking hour with your closest relatives. But the state is actually on the hunt for an artist to do just that.

Currently, Maine is taking applications for the Allagash Wilderness Waterway Visiting Artist Program. The idea is that an artist can stay for two weeks at the Lock Dam Camp, which is just a little one room cabin 60 miles from Millinocket. According to WGME - TV13, the state is hoping the chosen artist can find inspiration to share with the world.

Maybe you, or someone you know is an artist that would thrive with an opportunity like this. And like I said before, even if social distancing is still a thing, you won't see people for miles. But maybe you can also capture some of Maine's rustic beauty in a way that can't be done by a quick visit to one of our gorgeous state/national parks.

If it's something you wanna check out, you can get all the details and even apply if you want right here. Good luck to everyone!
